Watch the new Foo Fighters video for "Rope"
by Nicole Villeneuve
March 11, 2011
The new Foo Fighters record sounds exciting—it was recorded in Dave Grohl’s garage with no computers, Pat Smear has rejoined the group, and some of Dave’s Nevermind-era pals, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and producer Butch Vig are on board too. Right?
The first video—well, the second, actually, if you count their home made one for “White Limo”, directed by Grohl, though there are no Mentos this time around.
“Rope” is a straight-up performance video that was shot on VHS; Grohl’s got a good grasp of how the band looks and it works well with them as the focus in the lo-fi clip.
The video can be watched below. The album Wasting Light is out April 12.
