Corey Feldman's Today show performance was completely batshit

NBC has tellingly not yet uploaded Corey Feldman's performance to the Today Show's YouTube.

The Today Show isn’t much more than a place where comely but dumb-sounding people talk about the intersection of Not Much and Just In Time For Fall (that is, when they’re not wishing Rory Gilmore a happy birthday).

That all changed this morning, when Today was less Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb promoting day drinking and more EDM Corey Feldman channeling Michael Jackson while accompanied by Corey’s Angels, the scantily-clad women dressed as angels whom Feldman ostensibly pays to hang out with him and indulge his saviour complex.

Feldman, cosplaying as Christian Slater’s character in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, was on Today to promote Angelic 2 the Core, an album “ten years in the making.” He did so by performing the living shit out of “Go 4 It,” a song that shares a title with the eighties-est board game ever made, which itself always felt like a prop from that Corey Haim/Corey Feldman opus, License To Drive.

Without further ado, here’s a clip of the performance that NBC has tellingly not yet uploaded to the Today Show YouTube account.

You may recall that Feldman, who acted in classic 80s fare like The Goonies, Stand By Me, and The Lost Boys, recently asked the internet for $100,000 to make more of his music, music which once caused a minor league baseball team to issue an apology to its fans.

Today is usually the television equivalent of a bad breakfast cereal: it happens in the morning, it’s never satisfying, and there’s no prize at the end no matter how hard you look. And so while Feldman’s performance left a lot to be desired, we should all be thankful for one thing: at least we weren’t watching Matt Lauer interview anyone.
