At least the conversation was probably better this way.

Last week, Justin Bieber informed his fans via Instagram that he would no longer be doing his $2,000 (!!!) meet and greets because they resulted in him being “filled with so much of other people’s spiritual energy” that he would “leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression.”

Bieber’s crew claimed the cancellations were due to security concerns, but according to the man himself, it’s because the spiritual energy of normies is super depressing.

At the time, his people assured fans that refunds were being offered as well as “the alternative of a ‘VIP Hangout’ where both pics and videos could be taken of Justin” (presumably from behind hermetically sealed glass that would protect him from Belieber cooties).

What they didn’t let on is that by receiving a refund, VIP meet-and-greet pass holders would also forfeit their ticket to the show. Naturally, many fans begrudgingly accepted the VIP hangout where they could at least worship The Biebs from not-quite-as-afar. However, everyone clearly underestimates the balls on this kid, because this right here is what fans were greeted with:

Yes. That is a Kinko’s quality cardboard cutout of Justin Bieber. Now, it’s unclear whether his VIP fans still got the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the pop star (no doubt now skipping with joy, free of the astral pain caused by meeting the people that made him a zillionaire). Regardless, offering a particle-board version of himself as a consolation prize is just mind-blowingly arrogant, and pretty insulting for a number of reasons including the following pointed out by one astute fan:

As for The Biebs himself, he shared an Instagram post over the weekend showing his fans how free and at one with nature he is now:

Of course, fans that got screwed over to the tune of $2,000 may be interpreting it differently: “Hey Beliebers! Kiss my ass.”
