Tommy Black won't be implicated after police found drugs on Weiland's tour bus.

Late last week we learned that Scott Weiland’s untimely death was the result of an accidental overdose on a “toxic” cocktail of cocaine, ethanol, and MDA.

But tragic and sudden as the Stone Temple Pilot’s death was, more surprising was the emerging story that his bassist, Tommy Black, had been placed under arrest shortly thereafter when police found a stash of cocaine in his bunk on the band’s tour bus.

However after some extra investigating, police quickly realized that “found it on a tour bus” isn’t enough evidence to place legal blame on someone, so Black won’t be charged after all.

“[The narcotics] were found in a bunk and obviously with several people residing on a bus a number of people could have potentially possessed those narcotics,” said Police Chief Mike Hartley to People Magazine. “So at the end of the day we decided not to pursue charges against him.”

While the bassist won’t be charged, if the cocaine was in fact Black’s, the tragic circumstances surrounding Weiland’s death might be the kick in the pants he needs to lay off the nose clams.
