The Prime Minister denied the Human Serviette at a Vancouver campaign stop.

Nardwuar the Human Serviette is currently embroiled in the modern-day Canadian equivalent of Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail ’72.

After hijacking a recent Justin Trudeau press conference, the fuzzy-hatted journalist spoke to Thomas Mulcair for a pleasant if only slightly stagey conversation revealing the NDP leader’s love of folk-prog group Harmonium. Interviews like these (now concluding with a game of Hip Flip) are a part of our heritage, so it’s unfortunate that Stephen Harper has failed to show Nardwuar the same courtesy.

As the Vancouver Sun reports, the Prime Minister was a no-show during a morning campaign stop in North Vancouver. Harper only allows four media questions at each stop, and while Nardwuar would have surely approached him with his quintessentially hyperactive interrogation (plus a barrage of gifts), this is just the latest hint at the PM’s Orwellian media blackout. Nard tells his sad story in the series of photos below:

In the end, Harper spokesperson Kory Teneycke said there may be another chance for a Hip Flip with the PM, but if Nardwuar continues to be shut out, we won’t keep on rockin’ in the free world.
