He says pop music is "insulting" in its current state.

SHOCKER: Metal dad Corey Taylor does not care for the modern state of pop. We imagine this news is incredibly troubling for anyone that’s been clamouring for a Corey Taylor Swift album to come out this fall.

In an interview with Loudwire, Taylor dumped on today’s chart-topping acts and says pop music is “insulting” in its current state.

“I feel like I’m being stung by 1,000 bees all at once,” said the Slipknot/Stone Sour tune vendor. “It’s so Auto-Tuned and it’s so beat corrected and it’s so canned and processed and lifeless. You might as well be listening to a f***ing piece of wood at that point.”

Being stung by 1,000 bees at once doesn’t sound all that lifeless to us, but what do we know? Anyway, Taylor declared that pop acts aren’t putting in anywhere near the same effort he’s expelling on a nightly basis.

We’ll give a few minutes to pause and engage in an exausting wanking motion until your hand floats off into space.

“It bothers me because I put so much into everything I do,” he tells Loudwire. “I put so much into my music, I bleed for it, I die for it every goddamn night. To watch these people basically let a computer go through the motions and do all the work for them, it’s insulting to everyone out there who has more talent and less attention.”

So there’s your State of the Pop address from Corey Taylor.
