Foo Fighters surprise fans with a live set in a pizza place

Rock + pizza = Foo Fighters.
The Foo Fighters hadn’t played a show in over a year when they hit the stage in Moorpark, California earlier this week, but it wasn’t at an arena, park or even a bar—instead, Dave Grohl and the rest of his band played in the front room of Rock & Roll Pizza, which is exactly what it sounds like. Take a look.
The band played the show completely unannounced, surprising a crowd of 200 people with a reported 23 song, two-plus hour set. As fun as it must have been, the band was essentially using the gig to warm up for a a few huge shows in Mexico City, the first of which is tonight. Watch 11 minutes of their pizza party up top, care of Consequence of Sound. The full set list is here—no new songs from the band’s hugely anticipated upcoming album, but a whole hell of a lot of classics.
The entire thing reeks of awesomeness (and cheese), and for Torontonians is reminiscent of when Sloan played the cramped room of Caplansky’s Deli late last month for an intimate show that raised around $8,000 for men’s health issues.
