Adele's '21' set to drop to #12 after 78 weeks in Billboard's top 10

With word that she’s secretly married and knowledge that she’s pregnant, it makes sense that Adele’s massive selling album of breakup anthems 21 has finally dropped outside of Billboard’s top 10.

But falling to #12 next week is no slouch for the singer, who had spent an incredible 78 straight weeks in the top 10 since debuting at #1 in March of last year. MTV points out that only Bruce Springsteen (Born in the U.S.A.) and The Sound of Music soundtrack spent more time in the top ten. Another startling figure? Of the 430,000,000 albums sold in 2011 and 2012, 23% of them were copies of 21.

Enjoy your time off, Adele. You’ve earned it.
