Since it’s impossible to address the total madness of the music industry in only five days, Pop Uncultured saves some of the week’s strangest stories for Friday afternoon. Enjoy?

A nine-year-old boy dressed like Deadmau5 and absolutely dominated his school dance [FULL STORY]

Thus making all of our own Halloween parties look terrible.

Rita Wilson is releasing an album

On February 7, Mrs. Tom Hanks will treat us to her vocal stylings when her full-length debut, AM/FM, comes out on Decca. Admitting that she’s “always felt more comfortable with music than acting”, we can only assume she’ll provide the soundtrack to this:

R Kelly was in a fight club, apparently [FULL STORY]

According to Fat Joe, R Kelly once belonged to a Chicago-based fight club, and made the rapper watch hours of video to prove it. Evidently, the first rule of Fight Club isn’t not to talk about Fight Club – it’s about combining the theme to Ali with the tenacity of a man who won’t be trapped in a closet.

Nicki Minaj freaked out on a maid this morning

Police were called to Nicki Minaj’s house this morning after an alleged altercation took place between the rapper and a fired maid. While Billboard reports that one source claims that the former employee returned and demanded “not to be treated like animal”, another has said that Minaj confused her old maid for a new one, but that a battery charge was filed regardless. If this was indeed what happened, I think we just found her defense:

Frances Bean Cobain is engaged to a musician [FULL STORY]

And who says money emancipation from Courtney Love can’t buy you happiness?

J Lo cried onstage over the weekend

After a rendition of “If You Had My Love” in Connecticut last weekend, Jennifer Lopez got a little emotional, crying as the song came to a close, and adding “A little trip down memory lane, huh?” before exiting the stage. And while it’s easy to laugh at the emotional vulnerability of others, remember to judge not, lest ye be married to Marc Anthony. [via EW]

Steve Jobs was disappointed in John Mayer

In the biography that will hit shelves on Monday, Steve Jobs slams John Mayer in a chapter about his favourite musicians. Saying that Mayer was “out of control” and “in danger of blowing it big time”, the innovator offered no explanation for his sentiments, thus effectively making this the “Rosebud” of the 21st century. Kevin Richardson has returned to the Backstreet Boys for one show only [FULL STORY]

Everyone’s favourite oldest-looking Backstreet Boy has revealed plans to join his compadres for a show in the Bahamas, and the pop star-turned-theatre-actor hasn’t ruled out the possibility of more work with BSB in the future. Telling Ryan Seacrest, “I would never say it wouldn’t happen”, Richardson also explained that the band’s “chemistry when we come together just feels like old times.” But is the chemistry as great as this?

Steven Tyler fell down in the shower and had to cancel a show because of it

After enduring a black eye, broken teeth and a facial injury that required two stitches, Steven Tyler maintains that he was indeed sober when he fell in the shower on Tuesday, and was suffering from a stomach illness instead. Luckily, since the photo of the injured Aerosmith frontman has been deemed too gritty to post (in my opinion), another picture has surfaced that captures the severity of the situation:

Justin Bieber will collaborate with Drake and Kanye on his next album

Because someone had to show up “Drummer Boy” (feat. Busta Rhymes). [via Vulture]
