Listen to Patti Smith cover what she calls the 'song of the summer,' Adele's "Rolling in the Deep"

Patti Smith has every right in the world to cover Adele’s ubiquitous hit “Rolling in the Deep” and to forget some of the lyrics and say “I wish I could remember the words, I love this fucking song even if I can’t,” about half way through, because she’s Patti effing Smith.

At a recent show in New York City, Smith declared it the song of the summer and proceeded to cover it. It’s just another honour for Adele, as last week, Billboard reported her album 21 to be the biggest selling digital album in U.S. history.
