At the end of each week, #Top40Tweets lists a cross-section of artists on the current pop charts and puts their tweets on display (along with their current chart number) for your enjoyment/scrutiny. This week, we look at 5 artists on the Billboard Hot 100.

#11: Ke$ha – Blow

Apparently, Ke$ha watches a lot of reality TV. The last time I posted one of her tweets, it was a River Monsters reference. Ke$ha, we’re not so different, you and I. Except for this.

Worth Following?: Yes. For whatever reason, I am down with the K$. Also, it was her 24th birthday this week, on March 1st. She shares a birthday with a couple other celebrities.

#68: Tinie Tempah – Written In The Stars

I swear I have that dream all the time. Meet Tinie Tempah, dream-stealer, and Dr. Dolittle of the UK hip-hop scene.

Worth Following?: Yes. As much as I love Top 40 pop music, it’s not often that I get to write about an artist that I legitimately believe to be talented and rad. If you haven’t heard of Tinie Tempah, check ‘im out, mates.

#94: The Lonely Island feat. Akon – I Just Had Sex

I’ve been wanting to feature the Dudes for a while in this column, but their Twitter account was pretty humdrum until they started posting fake “rejected album covers.” See below for a convenient lazyman’s gif:

Worth Following?: “3 Morks” is probably my favourite. Andy’s face in “Hunks! In Da Mix” is pretty choice, too. Ok, ok, listen: I’m not really into novelty rap either, but these guys do it in the least annoying way possible. Face it, we’re all just jealous of their awesome lives. #iwannabeaDude

#5: Rihanna – S&M

According to the dictionary included in Snooki’s bestselling book A Shore Thing, tree-branching is defined as: “A popular dance move amongst the lethally brunette crowd to woo her guido in the creeping process.” From Snooki: “You put your wrist on a guy’s shoulder, like this, and then shake around in front of him. And, if it gets creepy, I might wrap one leg around him, like this.”

Worth Following?: Yes. Just the mere fact that this kind of interaction can happen should be enough to convince you.

#15: Nicki Minaj feat. Drake – Moment 4 Life

Well played, Nicki. I hope Confuzzeld14432 heeds your advice.

Worth Following?: Honestly, I often consider unfollowing Nicki. She’s very attentive to her fans, which means hundreds of RTs and @ Replies clogging up my feed. Occasionally a gem like this will slip through, but I question whether or not it’s worth it. Life is hard.
