Thanks to former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagen, rock stars will know what to do with their money besides sleep atop a pile of it. Having recently opened Meridian Rock, a musician-based wealth management firm, the current Velvet Revolver bassist hopes to educate his fellow rock ‘n’ rollers on how to take control of their finances.
Promising to be “brutally honest” with clients, McKagen maintains that the goal of Meridian Rock is to give musicians realistic expectations regarding their money and how to prepare for the future.
Inspired by his own experiences, McKagen also explains that after failing to understand Guns N’ Roses’ financial reports, he enrolled in a beginner financial course and eventually earned a reputation for his know-how, prompting the rocker to open the firm alongside investor Andy Bottomley.
