Because of course he did.

When Axl Rose broke his foot in April, the Guns N’ Roses singer did the unthinkable: he powered through. After decades of cancelling shows on a whim, showing up hours late because had something better to do, Rose, now 54, called in a favour, borrowing the absurd throne Dave Grohl fashioned and toured on after he famously snapped his leg in Europe last year.

“Now that’s all good, the foot is doing well. We did the 4 to 6 shows with Guns, then probably about 7 shows with AC/DC in the chair. Now he’s fully mobile.”

Rose is better now, though, strutting through GnR sets with the panache to match his endless outfit changes, so the time has come to return Grohl’s throne. And he did. In pieces.

“We gave [Dave Grohl] the chair back, yes, they got the chair back,” said Guns N’ Roses production manager Opie Skjerset. “In parts, but yes.”
