Welcome to the jungle, we got wubs and bass.

Fresh off trying to scrub the internet of his heavily meme’d shame, Axl and his compatriots in Guns N’ Roses are kicking off their reunion tour in Detroit next week, and they’ve announced a slate of support acts for the 25-date excursion. Openers throughout the tour will include CanCon punk radio staples Billy Talent, Kentucky bluegrass lifer Chris Stapleton, Lenny Kravitz, and… Skrillex?

Yes, the wub-generating haircut that launched a thousand Ableton torrent downloads will open for GNR in Houston on August 5th. We can only hope some enterprising roadie will surreptitiously record Axl’s backstage reaction to Skrillex’s bass onslaught. “What the hell is this? Where’s the rippin’ solos and extremely problematic lyrics?!” – Axl, upon hearing “Bangarang”, probably.

Maybe it makes more sense than you might think, however: both Sonny Moore and GNR’s practiced bombast may actually complement each other in a stadium setting, and that’s saying nothing of Axl and co. potentially getting their clutches on a few of Skrillex’s younger fans…. hopefully, y’know, money-wise and not literally. Regardless, only Houstonians will have to deal with any potential awkward lineup disparity, the rest of us will have to make do with Kravitz, or Alice in Chains.

The Guns N’ Roses Not In This Lifetime tour runs throughout the summer, and you can check out the mercifully wub-light dates below. Some dates, like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, are still missing openers, and now that Skrillex is on the table, who knows who will be putting in an appearance. Our money’s on… oh, let’s say… Calvin Harris.
