It’s unknown how many instruments or amps Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain destroyed while performing on stage, but apparently the first guitar he ever smashed will be on display at a new exhibit in Seattle called Nirvana: Taking Punk To The Masses.

Pieces of his Univox Hi-Flyer guitar will be included in the 200 band artifacts set to appear during the exhibition which runs April 16-22 at the Experience Music Project. Other notable possessions will be the yellow cardigan Cobain wore, as well as handwritten lyrics to “Spank Thru” and “Floyd The Barber.”

“It’s great that there will soon be a collection that celebrates [Cobain’s] contribution to music and culture,” bassist Krist Novoselic said. “There’s a story with Nirvana at its centre, but it’s a story that also includes the many people, bands and institutions that make up a music community.” [NME]

Nirvana’s Hormaoning EP, previously available only on the band’s 1992 Australian/Japan tour, will be released on Record Store Day.
