As if the Jim Carrey comedy I Love You Phillip Morris isn’t generating enough buzz, Nick Urata – frontman of the Denver-based band DeVotchKa – has announced that he has composed the score. Of course, this isn’t the first time the artist has delved into the wide word of film: in 2007, Urata and his bandmates contributed a Grammy-nominated score for the unforgettably heartwarming Little Miss Sunshine.

But wait, there’s more. In addition to his film scoring endeavours, Urata looks to be busy in 2011 as DeVotchKa is slated to release an album, 100 Lovers on March 1. Produced by Craig Schumacher (who’s worked with the likes of Neko Case), the album also features the percussion stylings of Mauro Refosco (of Thom Yorke’s Atoms For Peace) and appearances by members of Calexico.

Now just imagine if a little more Ewan McGregor was thrown into mix.
