The Roots will be the house band for an upcoming Prince tribute show at Carnegie Hall reports Pitchfork, with an equally impressive list of collaborators also set to appear (but not the Purple-one himself) including but not limited to Elvis Costello, Talib Kweli, D’Angelo and the Blind Boys of Alabama.

Check the image up top for the full list of performers.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit arts education programs like Young Audiences New York, Music Unites, the Pinwheel Project, American Symphony Orchestra’s Music Notes, Little Kids Rock and the Center for Arts Education and Church Street School of Music.

This is the ninth year of Knitting Factory founder Michael Dorf’s Carnegie Hall fundraising efforts but likely the first time where he has a very real chance of being cease, desisted and sued. Here’s hoping Prince’s lawyers take an easy on this one.
