Dave Grohl, Jack Black to appear in new Muppets movie

In what might be the single greatest piece of news today, Dave Grohl, Jack Black and Ricky Gervais will all make guest appearances in the new Muppets movie.

For Grohl, who apparently will be filling in for Muppets drummer Animal while he attends anger management treatment as part of the movie’s plot, this isn’t the first time he’s made a cameo in a film as he appeared in Tenacious D’s 2006 movie The Pick Of Destiny.

The new movie will be written by How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel, who will also play a leading role. Segel has revealed he would like for Lady Gaga to make an appearance as well.

Grohl and Foo Fighters are currently working on their eighth studio album with Butch Vig. [NME]
