The recently reunited Soundgarden were one of the headliners at the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago this past weekend and a radio station in Seattle has premiered an unreleased song that’s set to appear on the band’s forthcoming retrospective album entitled Telephantasm. The track is called “Black Rain” and it’s the first piece of unheard music we’ve received from the band in over a decade.

“Black Rain” was originally recorded during the band’s Badmotorfinger sessions back in 1991 and it sounds just like that time with Chris Cornell squealing over the heavy metal-influenced guitar and bass, slowing down just a tad during the chorus for that true early ’90s alternative rock sound. Telephantasm will be released on September 28. Have a listen to “Black Rain” below.
