"Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber," wrote Justin Bieber in the Anne Frank House museum guestbook after a visit this weekend.

If you’ve ever wondered at what point naïveté becomes ignorance, Justin Bieber is here to help. While visiting the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, where he reportedly spent more than an hour (presumably looking for reflective surfaces), Bieber left his mark and some words in the museum’s guestbook.
“Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl,” he wrote. “Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”
That’s according to the museum’s official Facebook page, who posted about his remarks seemingly immediately after the “Baby” singer left.
For their part, Anne Frank House press representatives brushed the comments of as harmless when reached for comment by BBC reporter Anna Holligan.
“He’s 19, it’s a strange life he’s living, it wasn’t very sensible but he didn’t mean bad…” they remarked on Bieber’s gaffe.
This isn’t Bieber’s first fight with common sense, either. Remember when he didn’t know what “German” meant? What about when he thought the North Pole was a continent?
Anne Frank famously wrote about her 2-years in hiding from the Nazi’s before dying at 15 after being betrayed and shipped off to an Auschwitz internment camp, where she succumbed to typhus.
The Diary of a Young Girl is one of the world’s most well known and well regarded books of all time and is often read in schools as early as the 4th grade, giving Bieber no excuse to walk so candidly across the bad taste threshold. Also giving him no excuse? He spent an hour in her museum.
