Kind of?

People are getting all amped up for the Beauty and the Beast live-action remake coming this year from our favourite purveyors of movies, theme parks and master-planned communities, Disney. The adaptation features a shopping-list of Hollywood mainstays, with Stanley Tucci, Emma Thompson, and Ian McKellen rounding out the cast, and of course Emma Watson as the iconic Belle. But glitches are already afoot ahead of the release, as evidenced by this Belle doll that pretty unambiguously looks like Justin Bieber.

Of course, this is wonderful click and share-bait across the web, ’cause people adore emasculating Justin Bieber and delight in maligning him with effeminate characteristics in a really gross misogynistic exercise. But we should really side-step that shit, and focus on how the FUCK this doll got to production looking like it does.

Like, objectively, there’s nothing wrong with it’s appearance; it looks like a human with long brown hair wearing a dress. It just looks not a damn thing like Emma Watson. Whoever made this doll literally had one job: make it look like Emma Watson, and they blew it.

Still, I’m not 100% convinced that Bieber is the closest comparison we can come up with. I’m still wrestling with who I think it resembles; people have tossed Lord Farquaad‘s name into the mix, and truth be told, I see a bit of Colin Hanks in there. Help out the internet and toss your ideas into the ring.

Thanks to Zimbio for bringing this incredibly important debate to our attention.
