Joseph “Run” Simmons and Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels, the surviving members of Run-D.M.C., will reunite for the first time in a decade to headline Austin’s Fun Fun Fun fest this fall. The group disbanded in 2002 after DJ Jam Master Jay was shot and killed. The festival is also donating some proceeds to the JMJ Foundation for Music, which is “dedicated to providing access to the arts, regardless of socio-economic status, for children and young adults.”
They’ll join the already announced Atlas Sound, Baroness, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Starfucker, Rakim, Lagwagon, The Head and The Heart, Danny Brown, David Cross, Bob Mould, Tomahawk and Against Me!, plus lots more still to come.
