Watch the new Butch Walker And The Black Widows video, "Synthesizers"

Every mention of Butch Walker seems to come with the need to point out his lofty resume as a songwriter and producer to the stars, but suffice to say the guy has been behind some of the more ubiquitous hits of the past decade-plus. But when he’s not penning tracks for Taylor Swift or Avril Lavigne, he’s doing his own thing with the Black Widows, churning out a flurry of albums ranging from country to cock-rock.
Taken off his latest album, The Spade, “Synthesizers” is a blend of his range of influences. Its video, on the other hand, sees the frequently shirtless Matthew McConaughey revisiting his Dazed & Confused character for a five minute romp filled with random bursts on the trumpet, cheerleaders, sexual innuendo out the wazoo but a curious absence of synthesizers. Which, if you listen to the song, kind of makes sense.
