Rufio, Rufio, Ru-Fi-Oh!

The legend of Stephen Spielberg’s 1991 Peter Pan movie Hook still lives on, primarily in memories of childhood nightmares thanks to the Boo Box scene. Aside from that, one other scene really stands out: “Ru! Fi! Ooooh!”

Rufio’s actor, Dante Basco, isn’t content with just living on in pop culture infamy and inspiring pop-punk band names: now he wants to crowdfund a short film about his character’s origin story. If the crowdfunding effort is successful and reaches its $30,000 goal, Bangarang will explore the full backstory of everyone’s favourite tri-mohawked ruffian, showing just how he ended up in Neverland, his pre-Lost Boy existence, and hopefully how he built that sweet wind-roller-skateboard.

Basco originally pitched Bangarang as a full feature back in 2012, but didn’t have much luck attracting any interest from the major studios. He then conceived it as a crowdfunded short film, but should the Kickstarter exceed its target to the tune of $200k by March 14th Basco promises to expand the film to full feature-length.

Well, should the project go forward, I think we know what at least one soundtrack entry will be:

Or maybe they can work through the licensing issues and get Pogo on the OST:
