It's titled "Tears of a Clown."

Iron Maiden will be paying tribute to Robin Williams on their latest album.

The late comedian is the subject of a track written by guitarist Adrian Smith and bassist Steve Harris. Frontman Bruce Dickinson says it’s a quality tune, too.

“My favourite song is one I didn’t write,” the singer/pilot told the Italian mag Corriere Della Sera. “It’s ‘Tears of a Clown,’ which talks about Robin Williams. I ask myself how could he be so depressed when he always seemed to be so happy.”

Iron Maiden’s new album, titled The Book Of Souls, is due out on September 4.

The metal outfit isn’t the only act to place a spotlight on the Academy Award winning actor after his passing. CeeLo Green released the single “Robin Williams” this summer to a mixed response. Stereogum blasted it as “some craven shit,” if you’ve got your scorecard out.
