Kurt Cobain's daughter wants to help Robin Williams' daughter because she is the best

It appears that Kurt Cobain’s final written words—he signed off his suicide note with “peace, love, and empathy”—have resonated with his daughter, Frances Bean. On the topic of suicide, she’s been quietly firm, offering up sound advice on her Twitter: Earlier this year, she cautioned Lana Del Rey against glorifying the act. And yesterday, she reached out to offer support to Zelda Williams, Robin’s daughter, in the wake of her father’s suicide.
Frances Bean, of course, could surely empathize—thanks to Kurt’s death, she never got to know her father. She’s dealt with a high-profile suicide while in the public eye, just as Zelda will have to. So, it’s only logical that Frances Bean offer her support.
It all began when Zelda posted her own tribute to Robin—who died at age 63—on Twitter. She quoted Antoine de Saint-Exupery, from his iconic book, Le Petit Prince.
Frances Bean, after seeing Zelda’s tweet, posted this in response. Because she rules.
Zelda hasn’t responded, though she—quite understandably—has stated she’s taking a break from Twitter. She did, however, posted a statement to her Tumblr on behalf of the family. It thanks people like Frances Cobain, who’ve extended their condolences.
While I’ll never, ever understand how he could be loved so deeply and not find it in his heart to stay, there’s minor comfort in knowing our grief and loss, in some small way, is shared by millions. It doesn’t help the pain, but at least it’s a burden countless others know we carry, and so many have offered to help lighten the load.
Zelda added that Robin’s favourite thing in the world was to make people laugh. And surely, he’d be laughing at the fake Mrs. Doubtfire footage Fox News used when covering his death.
