Justin Bieber is frustrated by his shrieking Beliebers.

You’d think that after 7-odd years in the spotlight, bearing the auditory assault of screaming fans night after night, Justin Bieber would be used to it by now. Apparently not, though: after begging his full-throated legions to stop shrieking during a show in Manchester, Bieber couldn’t take it any more and stormed offstage. Cue mic drop:

The gig was the last of three Manchester shows Bieber performed in the as part of his Purpose world tour.

“The screaming in these breaks has got to stop. Please and thank you,” Bieber said just before walking off backstage. “I don’t think it’s necessary when I’m trying to say something and you guys are screaming.” Sounds like a good show.

Bieber did eventually re-appear, offering the world’s most flowery excuse for his diva act: “The point of the no screaming thing is that when I’m looking at you in the eyes you know that we’re actually having a moment and having a connection.” Unrelated sidebar: I wonder how many bead necklaces the Biebs owns at this point?

Bieber appears to have something of a problem with his fans all of a sudden, particularly the English ones: last week, he told a crowd in Birmingham to calm down, and said their nonstop screaming was “just so obnoxious.” Listen dude, I understand you’re a ‘mature artist’ now (well, in theory anyway), but, in the words of the immortal Dwayne Johnson: “Shut your mouth – AND KNOW YOUR ROLE!”  I hope that reference resonates with the Biebs’ generation.
