Father John Misty quits social media

Bad news for fans of fanciful social media tales from a singing-songwriting beardos: Josh Tillman, aka Father John Misty, has made an art form out of flooding the blogosphere with wildly improbable stories and antics, but it appears now that it’s all coming to an end.

Misty has completely deactivated his Twitter and Instagram, leaving us all to wonder what on earth we’ll do with our time now that Tillman isn’t posting Instagram pics of himself staring at his phone ad nauseam, or trading Twit barbs with another artist about the state of the entertainment industry. Most recently, Tillman had been posting the same in-studio video of himself over and over, with differing faux-philosophical captions each time. I guess that counts as some kind of commentary… but now we’ll never know!

Whether or not Misty’s absence from two of his regular digital haunts is going to permanent or not, no one knows. Here’s hoping.

Thankfully, Tillman’s Facebook and Snapchat are still there. Oh thank God… here I was thinking I’d have to endure a Misty-less blogosphere for at least a few hours.
