The crazy cat dad is rescuing kittens while rebuilding Detroit's abandoned homes.

Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland may seem like a pretty intense guy onstage, largely due to the combination of his antics and the batshit crazy, nightmare-inducing costumes he chooses to wear.

But from Andrew W.K. being a sober businessman and possibly a purely manufactured persona to Tool’s Maynard James Keenan being an honest-to-God winery owner, we should all be used to finding out our favourite crazy-ass musical artists are regular dudes at home.

Still, there’s just something special about the news that Borland isn’t just a regular guy – he’s a big softie. His most recent projects? A reality show on the DIY Network with his girlfriend… and running a kitten rescue.

Entertainment Weekly interviewed Borland and his girlfriend/Queen Kwong bandmate Carré Callaway about Sight Unseen, their new home renovation reality show. Apparently, after deciding it was time to leave L.A., they felt that Detroit was the spot for them and went on to buy a mansion without ever seeing it in real life (because when you have Limp Bizkit money, you can do that kind of shit).

The man who famously and regularly slags on his old band, once proclaiming he went back because he was infected with “Limp Bizkit AIDS” also took time to discuss 2015’s ridiculous ShipRocked cruise which they headlined, referring to it as a “Bro-Chella” where he had “a terrible time and made no money.”

But should you think Wes is just a big black-eye-contact-wearing Grumpy Gus when he’s not feng shui-ing, consider this: when asked what other projects may be upcoming, the first thing he brought up was the cat rescue he and Callaway run out of their newly renovated digs. The couple has been seeking out kittens left in Detroit’s many abandoned houses, fostering them, and then finding them permanent homes.

D’awww. Well, Borland may not be the wild man we thought he was… but you can hold on to the fact that he’s still super weird. DIY Network aired a predictable “What happens when two rockstars move across the country to renovate a house they’ve never seen before???” preview spot which apparently Borland was none too impressed with – so he made one of his own. Feast your eyes on the acid-trip of a trailer below.

Our show airs tomorrow on the #diynetwork … #sightunseen #hgtv
