I've been looking so long / at this Periscope of you / I almost believed it was real.

Never let it be said Canada’s Ocean Playground doesn’t go the extra mile to promote the arts: a livestream of The Cure’s New York concert was broadcast on the Nova Scotia government’s Twitter on Sunday.

The two-minute accidental livestream was apparently due to a government employee unwittingly using the official Twitter account, rather than their own personal one, while attending the concert. The employee used Periscope, a video streaming app, to broadcast approximately two minutes of Robert Smith and co.’s New York concert before realizing their mistake. The Twitter post was promptly deleted, but thanks to an enterprising Redditor, we can emphatically prove that the Nova Scotia government are goth-rock superfans:

“I would say I’m sorry / If I thought that it would change your mind” – Premier Stephen McNeil defending his controversial 2015 budget, probably.
