'Cop Light Bling' is a rap song about road safety that's 10 months too late to be relevant.

Move over Drake, RCMP Constable Mark Skinner is here. No, literally move over to a different lane if you see a police car pulled over on the side of the road. That’s the message behind “Cop Light Bling”, a painfully dorky parody of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” from the unlikely humorous source of the Nova Scotia RCMP.

This video arrived on 4/20 (of course) to harsh all mellows and promote awareness of Nova Scotia’s ‘Move Over’ law. It features MC Mark Skinner and his squad delivering some hastily written rhymes about respecting road safety: “Ever since May 2010, you… / Can be fined if you don’t move / To the lane farthest / From red and blue / If it’s safe for you to do.”

“Cop Light Bling” is a lot like the Canadian police department rap battles, but with way more AutoTune and the crappiest version of the “Hotline Bling” beat imaginable. It’s about a million times more Tim Horton than Timmy Thomas.

Look, we’re excited for Views from the 6 too, but this was completely unnecessary. Watch the video below:
