Taylor Swift wins 'Best Album' Grammy and blasts Kanye West

The 2016 Grammy Awards were a night of highlights (Kendrick Lamar’s blazing performance, Bonnie Raitt’s smouldering appearance in a tribute to B.B. King, Adele’s sassy response to her sound issues), lowlights (The Hollywood Grampires’ tribute to Lemmy, Justin Bieber, Skrillex and Diplos’s tribute to From First To Last) and something in between (Lady Gaga’s Vegas-style 9,000-song Bowie medley).

In the end, the night was capped off with Taylor Swift’s emotional acceptance speech for her album of the year award, making her the first female artist to win it twice. Alongside delivering some inspirational words for young women in music (in front of an army of male producers), her emphasis on the word “Fame” makes it seem like a rightfully angry response to Kanye’s troubling lyrics about her on his song “Famous”.
