The fearless pop star says she has 'nothing left to hide.'

Though Kesha recently claimed a minor victory against her producer, label owner, and alleged abuser Dr. Luke, the latest news doesn’t bode as well for the pop star: Kesha’s injunction releasing her from her contract with Dr. Luke’s Sony-affiliated Kemosabe Records has been denied by a New York City judge.

Kesha, who alleges that Dr. Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald) drugged and raped her a decade ago, along with ongoing abuse throughout their working relationship, filed an injunction asking that she be released from her contract with Gottwald and be allowed to record without his involvement. Her attorney argued that the careers of pop stars necessitate remaining in the public eye, and that being contractually unable to record leaves Kesha in danger of a vanished career.

New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich was not convinced, however. “You’re asking the court to decimate a contract that was heavily negotiated and typical for the industry,” she told Kesha’s attorney Mark Geragos.

Kornreich also spoke to the lack of physical evidence corroborating that Kesha had been abused, and said that she doesn’t “understand why I have to take the extraordinary measure of granting an injunction.” Kornreich also heard arguments that Dr. Luke had invested $60 million in Kesha and that the producer was amenable to allowing Kesha to record without him, an overture which Geragos characterized as an “elusive promise.”

For his part, Dr. Luke denies any abuse, and alleges that Kesha’s ongoing legal battles against him are the result of an artist frustrated by the lack of career momentum. He believes the lawsuit is an attempt to extort him, and get her out of her contract with the record label.

As for her thoughts on the lengthy legal battle, Kesha said she has “nothing left to hide” in a powerful statement on Instagram:

I have nothing left to hide. I did this because the truth was eating away my soul and killing me from the inside. This is not just for me. This is for every woman, every human who has ever been abused. Sexually. Emotionally. Mentally. I had to tell the truth. So the outcome will be what it will be. There’s nothing left I can do. It’s just so scary to have zero control in your fate. But this is my path this life for whatever reason…
