He finished the band's four-hour set with a broken rib.

It was a typical Friday night in Nashville with the Don Kelley Band tearing through a cover of Johnny Cash‘s “Ghost Riders in the Sky.” As the song reached its conclusion, drummer Stan Saxon stood up for some flashy fills and crashed through a window onto the sidewalk below.

Watch the video footage from showgoer Ty Anderson, who was at the gig with his wife at Nashville venue Robert’s Western World:

The real surprise here is that the upright bass player wasn’t the one to get injured with his own instrument-surfing hot dog moves. Apparently, Saxon got yanked backwards by his in-ear monitor.

According to comments on the video, the drummer landed on a pair of couples at a table below with his snare drum surrounded by broken glass. Saxon suffered a broken rib but was able to complete another four-hour set with the band at a bar across the street until 3 a.m. He was back at it again on Saturday night.

That’s some Grohl-style grit.
