It's the six-episode Amazon series that no one asked for.

Comedian/writer/director/world’s most supportive stepdad Woody Allen is set to write and direct a new TV series for Amazon, and he’s landed the greatest actress and musician of her generation to star in the lead role: Miley Cyrus.

Cyrus has already proven her irreproachable acting chops with a little show called Hannah Montana, truly the I Love Lucy of the 2000s in terms of its lasting cultural and comedic influence, so it’s no surprise Allen tapped her for his new project. Proving once and for all the effectiveness of The Secret‘s secret methodology of positive thinking, Miley apparently got the call while staring into the eyes of a portrait of Allen she keeps beside her bed.

“Fuck yeah ! Stoked to be in Woody Allens first series!!!!! I had claimed 2016 to be my year of “chillin the fuck out” but next to my bed for a few years now has been this portrait of W.A. & I was looking into his eyes when I got the call to be apart of the cast and work alongside the bad a$$ Elaine May & da dude himself! 1960zzzz here I cummmmm”

Fuck yeah! The still-untitled series is apparently set in the 1960s, and shooting is set to begin in March, but Woody Allen fans might want to temper their expectations, at least according to Woody Allen.

“I thought six half-hours would be a cinch, but it’s not. It’s very hard. I’m not good at it, I’m floundering. It could be a cosmic embarrassment. I just hope I don’t disappoint Amazon,” Allen said of the project at last year’s Cannes festival. That’s… very encouraging.
