The muscular fossil fireworm totally lifts.
You haven’t truly made it in showbiz until some nerds name a species of fossil fireworms after you, so we send our hearty congrats to Henry Rollins!
The shouty hardcore icon with a tendency to always pop up in your cable rotation is the inspiration for a very muscular brand of newly discovered fossil fireworms. Y’know, because he’s reliably jacked. Here’s a science-y picture of this Rollins-esque creature.
Dangerous Minds reports that this is the first time a fossil has been identified by its buffness before. The technical name of the worm? Rollinschaeta myoplena. It’s said to be a close relative of earthworms and leeches and it may be capable of tearing your mind out and burning your soul.
This isn’t the first time a musician’s been honoured via a species name tribute. Lou Reed and David Bowie have both had spider species named after them and Frank Zappa inspired the moniker for a specific variety of jellyfish.
