Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX, and Rita Ora were proposed for the Lady Marmalade reboot.

In the market for a 2010s edition of the Moulin Rouge update of “Lady Marmalade?” If so, Rita Ora has a proposal for you.

The UK pop performer said in The Sun (the British one) that she wouldn’t mind giving the Xtina/P!nk/Kim/Mya/Missy 2001 update of the Patti Labelle anthem a modern redo. Who would be in “Lady Marmalade 2016,” you ask? Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX, and Ora herself were tossed out by the singer as the proposed squad.

We’ll give you a moment to shake your head and look out the window for a brief spell.

Naturally, The Internet™ flew into a rage over the quality and composition of Ora’s proposed lineup and Twitter was stuffed full of 140 character or less explanations why this new “Lady Marmalade” must never be. Joining the chorus of “FUCK OFF” that greeted Rita’s musing was her “Black Widow” trackmate Iggy Azalea who was quick to distance herself from the potential project.

Y’know, because Azalea would never appropriate something for her own personal gain. *endless fake coughs*

Idolator notes that Charli XCX was initially receptive to the pitch (would she be the P!nk in this equation?) saying “ummm I’m down.” That endorsement would disappear not too long after as the tweet was promptly deleted.
