If you're in a bathroom near U2's dressing room, you may hear him clucking like a chicken.
Here’s the scariest music story we’ve heard this Halloween season: U2 frontman Bono warms up his vocal cords by shouting and “emitting chicken-like clucks” before hitting the stage.
On a recent breakfast show episode of the UK’s Radio X to promote their ongoing Innocence + Experience Tour, the 55-year-old singer made the following revelation:
“I make animal noises before I go on stage. I’ve heard other singers, and people you really admire in the TV studio, doing the same thing. I could never do that, I couldn’t do it in public, but I do now, I make those clucking sounds. If you happen to be in a bathroom near U2’s dressing room, that might be me.”
U2 are also attempting to thrill fans with a new virtual reality music video. They’ve even been cruising around in a double decker bus specially equipped with Oculus Rift helmets. Still, encountering Bono in the virtual realm doesn’t sound as chilling as hearing his chicken clucks IRL.
