Obama gives MJ a run for his money in a new vocal overdub video.

All those lonely vigils in the pumpkin patch must have finally paid off: The Great Pumpkin finally materialized, and granted us all our most heartfelt Halloween wish. How else do you explain the appearance of a new YouTube video featuring President Barack Obama singing Michael Jackson’s 1982 Halloween pop standby “Thriller”?

What’s more likely: the people running a YouTube channel called Barack Dubs painstakingly spent hours splicing the video together, or a an ancient semi-sentient magical cultivar spawned it outright? I think we all know the answer.

Obama’s clipped, stern phrasing might not make for the most exhilarating version of “Thriller” ever committed to tape YouTube audio encoding, but you gotta give it up for the amount of effort and clip-digging this must have taken. It’s all worth it for the “ah-ah-ah.”
