Skrillex also calls Justin Bieber "the most gifted kid" he's ever seen.

Breaking news: A dude who spends all day in front of Ableton and thinks this is a good idea might be a bit lacking in social graces.

In a recent radio interview with EDM poster boy/first ambassador of the undercut Skrillex, young Sonny Moore calls Toronto’s own Deadmau5 (government name: Joel Zimmerman) an “asshole, and everyone knows that.” This comes hot on the heels of Deadmau5’s disdain for Skrillex and Diplo’s collaborative Jack Ü project. War of the nerds!

The comment was prompted when Skrillex showed up for an interview with New York’s AMP 92.3. The DJ played Deadmau5’s derisive “cover”/pisstake of Jack Ü’s Bieber-featuring hit “Where Are U Now” and asked for his opinion.

“I’ll always have love for Joel because he put me on at an early time, but he’s an asshole, and everyone knows that, and he knows that. And that’s kinda his thing. I mean, the one thing that is unfortunate about it is that he has a record label. I couldn’t imagine being a leader, you know, going out [with his] public image being such a negative attitude.”

Oof. I wouldn’t want to be Joel Zimmerman right now! Or any other time, really. I mean, have you seen those tats?

Speaking on his experiences recording the Jack Ü material, Skrillex also gave Beliebers everywhere some much-needed validation when he called Justin Bieber “the most talented, gifted kid I’ve ever seen.”
