Australian pop star Kylie Minogue vs. reality TV star Kylie Jenner: Whose side are you on?

It’s Kylie Vs. Kylie 2016! No holds barred! You pay for the whole seat but you’ll only need the edge!

Reality TV star and disability activist Kylie Jenner is engaged in a legal battle with Australian pop empress Kylie Minogue after applying to trademark her name in the United States. Representatives of Minogue, who it should be noted, has owned Kylie.com since 1996, filed a notice of opposition to Jenner’s application last week.

The language used by Minogue’s legal team was decidedly less flowery than that of Rebels: City of Indra: they called Kylie a “secondary reality television personality” and a “home-schooled graduate” who has “drawn criticism from, for example, the disability rights and African-American communities.” In other words, not exactly who the Kylies of America want as their representative.

The notice of opposition also lists the US trademarks Minogue already owns: everything from clothes to cosmetics exist in the Kyliesphere alongside her music.

Fans of Minogue have started rioting in the streets a Twitter hashtag in response to the battle, #TheresOnlyOneKylie:

You tell ‘er, Ronan. Well, what are you waiting for? Enlist today in your chosen army. Or don’t, who cares.
