AC/DC, Sam Smith, and Taylor Swift were artists included in the ticket scam.

A Vancouver couple have been identified as those responsible for selling hundreds of fake tickets over Craigslist, the Vancouver Sun reports. A 22-year old woman and a 30-year old man are accused of duping buyers into purchasing counterfeit tickets to shows as diverse as AC/DC, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, the Grey Cup and Disneyland.

Whoa, even Disneyland? Can’t say these criminals don’t have spunk if they’re willing to risk the wrath of the most powerful brand on earth. “Who do these hosers think they are, ha-ha? Find them and bring them to me, alive, ha-ha!” – Mickey, to his shadowy cabal of operatives.

About 50 charges of fraud are currently linked to the couple, but police believe that they are responsible for hundreds of unreported incidences. According to reports, prospective buyers would contact the couple over Craigslist and arrange to meet in public places, with the woman handling the transaction while the man waited in a nearby car. To assuage any doubts, the woman would often show buyers a passport identifying her as an Irish woman named ‘Jenny Donoghue.’ “Welp, name checks out, she’s Irish” – the fraud victims, presumably.

The only problem was that the passport was stolen, and used for the express purpose of winning prospective buyers’ trust. I guess the criminals’ market research showed people are more willing to buy tickets from Irish people? “You can trust her, she’s Irish!” – a man to his suspicious partner after purchasing tickets to “Bettey Middler.”

Police are asking anyone who thinks they may have been had by the couple to contact them. Even though “Jenny Donoghue” and her accomplice (Sean O’Sullivan? Patrick Ryan?) are now in custody, it’s probably good practice to not buy tickets from Craigslist or Kijiji posts, and stick to the old standby: Irritable, smelly scalpers outside the venue.
