Justin Bieber pleaded guilty on Thursday to assault and careless driving, charges stemming from a summer 2014 incident in Stratford, Ontario. You might remember that he drove an ATV into a minivan full of photographers, because of course he did.

Bieber was found guilty of both the assault and careless driving charges. The former received an absolute discharge sentence, which is a practically non-consequential sentencing (no conviction, no conditions). He paid $750 for the careless driving charge. An additional charge of dangerous driving was dropped.

Biebs didn’t make the trip to Stratford for the hearing, appearing instead via Skype, remaining silent and wearing a white collared shirt with tidy hair, according to The Star.

Justice Kathryn McKerlie said the real lesson from the proceedings was to “think before you act.”
