While Vancouver-based Andrew Lee is best known for his work in indie-rock outfit In Media Res, he’s spent the last few months releasing ambient music under the Holy Hum moniker. In 2015 alone, he’s been prolific: First, he unveiled “Appendix C” in January, exhibiting Lee’s penchant for warm, washed-out instrumental fare. Next up, he dropped a 7-inch earlier this week via B.C. imprint Kingfisher Bluez, which showed the elasticity of Holy Hum’s sound—dabbling with vocals, scraps of electric guitar, and gorgeous synth drones, Lee’s soundscapes are both serene and haunting.

That’s why today, we’re stoked to premiere the video accompaniment to the 7-inch. Side A and side B each have their own videos—fittingly titled “Appendix A” and “Appendix B”—but both are completely different outings. “Appendix A,” below, is easily the more abstract of the pair.

“Appendix B,” while certainly abstract in its own right, seats a man—with Kleenex plugging his nostrils—in front of pixellated screen.

Grab Holy Hum’s 7-inch via Kingfisher Bluez’s Bandcamp. Catch Holy Hum at the Vancouver Planetarium—a fitting venue if there was one—on June 26 with Hello Blue Roses and Red Hot Icicles Burning on Fire.
