Sure, it’s part of Slipknot’s wardrobe to occasionally have sharp objects sticking out of their heads, but a recent dust-up left band member Mick Thomson hospitalized with a real-life stab wound to his head.
The guitarist, who is also known as Number Seven to Slipknot fans, suffered non-life-threatening injuries after engaging in a drunken knife fight with his brother Andrew (who seems to know his way around knives).
According to a Des Moines police release, police were called to the scene of the fight at 4:25 a.m. this morning.
The Thompson brothers were both intoxicated and brandishing knives. No charges were laid, and they were rushed to the hospital in separate ambulances.
None of the non-metal press covering the stabbing have identified Thomson as the Slipknot guitarists, but how many 41-year-old dudes named Mickael Gordon Thomson can there really be in Des Moines, Iowa?
Slipknot released .5: The Gray Chapter in late 2014. They plan to record a followup to the album sooner rather than later.
