He plans to reissue it on Record Store Day.

Remember when Elvis Presley’s first recording sold for $300,000 to an anonymous bidder at a Graceland auction earlier this year? Jack White has revealed that he was the buyer, and he plans to re-issue the recording for Record Store Day on his Third Man Records label.

The acetate disc of “My Happiness” was the only of its kind in existence and was recorded in 1953. Jack White is the only man in the world with enough money and the right hair for something like this.

The interview also revealed some other interesting tidbits about White’s Third Man operation, like that male employees must wear black suits with yellow-and-black ties and the women yellow dresses, and that the fireproof and climate-controlled vault in the office contains treasures like the White Stripes’ master tapes and recordings from artists like Neil Young, Beck, and Jack Johnson. YEP.
