Watch the two musicians play "Lemon Song."

If there were two icons of past- and present-tense rock, it’s Robert Plant and Jack White. The former is the lead singer for Led Zeppelin—and if you’ve ever spent time as a pouty teenage rock fan, you’ve probably gone through a Zep phase. White, for his part, is the Detroit-bred revivalist who came up with the White Stripes, established Third Man Records, and became one of the biggest proponents of vinyl records. Both men are greats in their own respects, but clearly of different generations.

Accordingly, many have fantasized about Plant and White collaborating. Plant, for his part, has stated his admiration for his younger peer: On a Reddit AMA, he wrote that “I love Jack White’s buccaneer spirit, and the way he dodges through the musical horizons. I’d be happy to make a single with him.”

That dream—while still very much a dream—just came one step closer to fruition. At Lollapalooza in Argentina, both men came together onstage to perform “The Lemon Song,” from Led Zeppelin’s II. As Rolling Stone reports, it was the first time the song was played live since 1995, when Page and Plant performed it while on tour.

Watch footage of the song below.
