Unsurprisingly, Marilyn Manson is a bit of an eccentric.

In what has to be the weirdest thing we’ve read this year, Manson revealed in a new interview with Rolling Stone that he suffers from Munchausen by Proxy syndrome, is afraid of bathtubs, and has to engage in “sexual congress” a minimum of 5 times a day.

He revealed that at 13, he used to sneak into the basement to watch his grandfather masturbate to bestiality porn, hunched over a toy train set, “with grotesque guttural noises emanating from the hole left in his throat by a tracheotomy.”

He revealed that he is, in essence, Tobias Fünke. In the interview, he says that because of his “phobia that the house is going to catch fire,” he will only have sex if his underwear is resting comfortably around his naked ankles.

Oh, and it has to be in the dark. On his black sheets.

“I’m just really shy, despite what you’d imagine,” he said. And it holds throughout the story. Despite his reputation as a heartbreaking lothario, goth-pop’s Don Juan can’t even shower with his partner.

“I think maybe twice in my life have I taken a shower with a girl,” he said, “and that was in the dark.”

He revealed that he lives part-time at his best friend Johnny Depp’s house and that his own place is so dark his assistant needs a flashlight to get around.

Perhaps more importantly, the interview starts with Manson pouring grape soda into a glass. He never drinks it.

He’s consistently worried of his house burning down, and also, why does it look like his face is covered in cold cuts in the art for his new single?
