Have you been listening to Serial? You should be listening to Serial. Sarah Koenig’s weekly This American Life spinoff has taken people by storm since its debut on October 3rd with its episodic tale of murder, love and the American justice simple.

Its theme is simple but fantastic. Written by Nick Thorburn, the podcast’s opening moments are paced by the theme’s plinking piano, a simple but effective way to set up the tense half an hour listeners are about to fly through.

And, because “Internet,” here it is mashed up with Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” The “why” here is pretty thing, too; Funny or Die essentially wanted to combine what everyone is listening to this fall with what everyone was listening to last fall. In this case, that’s “Wrecking Ball,” and you know what? It works incredibly well.

Happy MailKimp day!
