The Creed singer reportedly "has visions of people on fire."

We told you yesterday about the quick demise of Scott Stapp, the former Creed singer whose life has quickly turned to paranoia and bankruptcy. In a fifteen minute video, he told fans and critics alike that he was being threatened, and that his identity, and his finances, had been compromised. Living out of a hotel and using his friend’s phone, Stapp promised justice would be served.

And then, yesterday, another video surfaced. Starting with him outside of the Boca Raton police station claiming he’d been ignored (and ending with a police officer very politely greeting him), Stapp goes into specifics: That his label, Wind-Up Records, owes him as much as $50 million in unpaid royalties, and that his banks, Wells Fargo and SunTrust, have either directly stolen money from him or, more likely (but not necessarily more true), allowed money to be stolen from him.

As he puts it, he has “20 or 30” things to file charges for. In that video’s follow up, he does produce evidence that he’s filed charges for… something, holding up a slip with his case number and the reporting officer’s identity—side note, maybe don’t do that, Scott.

But then, as a further sign of a man whose mental state seems to seriously be in need of monitoring, he turns to God. Not as a point of strength and security, but in reference to what he ultimately equates to a godless America. Comparing himself to Paul the Apostle, Stapp says he’s the victim of a society that has taken Christ out of schools to accommodate “Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists.”

“We’re made up of body, mind and soul. But now a generation of children and people all the way up to their 40s that have a complete soul sickness, because God has been removed out of American culture and relegated to churches, except for it’s printed on our money.

What I’m starting to realize is, that’s really what’s become the God of America. Money.

He says he’s fighting for his finances not because he’s greedy, but because he’s fighting for his family. And that’s when things get sad.

According to divorce papers filed by his wife, Jaclyn, Stapp had reportedly threatened to kill his family to save them from “biological weapons” that he says were coming to Florida.

“Florida is not safe. Biological weapons on the way. U have to leave with kids and meet me in Atlanta,” he reportedly told Jaclyn in a text message.

“I’m coming to get you Satan and children. No mercy,” read another. “You know how this ends. God created you and now God is ending you.”

TMZ meanwhile reports that Stapp “hears phantom voices and has visions of people on fire.” On November 13, Stapp was found on the side of a road “wasted, incoherent, and rambling” that someone was trying to poison him. He was placed on a 72-hour psych hold.

She says he’s on a drug binge, fuelled by a mixture of “steroids, weed, cocaine, PCP, Special K, Crystal meth, and various Rx drugs.”

All three videos have since been removed from both Scott Stapp’s Facebook page and Creed’s, presumably because his wife, bandmates and labels have lawyered up.

While there may be clout to claims that Stapp has had money taken from him, it’s more likely that his wife has taken financial control of his assets or, as many rockstars before him have fallen victim to, he simply can’t manage his money properly.

In any case, Scott Stapp is at the very least a victim of his own mind. The videos, which we’ll post below thanks to an archiving YouTuber, show a man seemingly at his wit’s end. Here’s hoping he gets the help he needs.
